I think they also made alot of changes to the 2d highspeed paths, but I don't remember if that was even in X4. I think they actually made a new toolbar called 'solid prep' where this new stuff is. Anyhow, it is a significant change from X7 solid modeling, but I think all the "old" tools are still there. I forget what this is called, one way is called parametric, then there is another term. I haven't played with this too much, it may be beter, but from what I saw (again on the beta version) if I couldn't do it the "old" way, I still could not accomplish it with the push/pull. They have added dynamic push/pull to the solids feature. I found I don't recognize any of the new icons without staring at them for a minute or so and trying to put that together with the mouseover help. X8 has a completely new look as far as the GUI. Hopefully they (the new job) still have X7, this will look much more familiar to you coming from X4. Its since been released, but I think we all know the first release is pretty sketchy, need to wait for the first couple patches to come out. I downloaded the beta for X8 and I can't say I much care for it.
